Private rooms and join alerts for your server's supporters, with every member's privacy built in from the start.
Malcolm! looks after two things that a server's roles can unlock. Each server decides which roles get what, so a supporter role might come with a private room, a few join alerts, or both.
Your own voice channel, with its built-in text chat. Only you and the guests you invite can see it.
A DM when a particular friend joins a particular room, so you know when to hop in. It only starts if your friend says yes.
Not sure what your roles include? Ask your server's admins, or try /room info and /alerts list.
If one of your roles includes a room, you can open one. The room is a voice channel that nobody else can see until you invite them.
| Type this | What it does |
|---|---|
/room create | Opens your room, with the name you give it. |
/room invite | Lets someone in. Malcolm! welcomes them in the room's chat. |
/room remove | Takes someone off your guest list. |
/room rename | Gives your room a new name. |
/room info | Shows your room, your guests and how many guests your roles allow. |
/room close | Closes your room for good. |
A join alert sends you a DM when someone joins a voice room. It's the friendly version of checking the member list over and over to see if your study buddy has turned up.
/alerts request, then choose the person and the room. This is what your friend sees:
| Type this | What it does |
|---|---|
/alerts request | Asks a member if you may be told when they join a room. |
/alerts list | Shows your alerts, with a button to remove each one. |
Knowing when someone comes online is personal. Malcolm! was built so that nobody is ever watched without saying yes first, and so that saying no is completely safe.
/alerts-about-me shows every alert about you. Stopping is instant, and the other person isn't told./alerts-about-me shows alerts about you from Malcolm! and from Silas!, on every server.Malcolm! keeps a record of who asked, what you agreed to and when it stopped. That record is what proves your consent was asked for and respected.
You decide which roles unlock what. Malcolm! works with any roles you already have, such as supporter tiers, boosters or moderators.
/setup rooms, then pick a category. Malcolm! creates private rooms inside it./setup level, then pick a role, how many join alerts it allows (0 to 25), and optionally how many guests its room holds (1 to 50). Leave guests out for no room. Run it again to change a role./setup show lists everything. /setup remove-level stops a role from unlocking anything.| Role | Unlocks |
|---|---|
| $3 Supporter | 2 join alerts |
| $5 Supporter | 5 join alerts and a room for 4 guests |
| Moderators | 10 join alerts and a room for 10 guests |
Someone with several of these roles gets the best of each: the most alerts and the biggest room.
Malcolm! needs permission to manage channels and their permissions in the rooms category, so he can create each room and let only its guests in. The invite button asks for exactly what he uses and nothing more. He doesn't read your server's messages.
The first month lets you see whether your members actually use their perks before you pay anything. If you offer supporter roles, a room can be a real reason to support: four $5 supporters cover Malcolm!.

No. Saying no, not answering yet, and stopping an alert all look exactly the same to the person who asked.
No. He only sees his own commands and who joins or leaves voice channels. That's all he needs for rooms and join alerts.
Rooms and alerts stop working while the subscription is off. Your setup is kept, so everything works again if you come back.
